Flora & Fauna in Jaldapara National Park

The forest is mainly savannah covered with tall elephant grasses. The main attraction of the forest is Asiatic one-horned rhinoceros. It holds the maximum number of rhinos population in India after Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The other animals consists of Royal Bengal Tigers, elephants, deers, sambhar, barking deer, spotted deer and hog deer, wild pig, bisons

How to Reach Jaldapara

The nearest railway station to Jaldapara is Madarihat. All the mail and express trains stop at Birpara/Hasimara railway stations which are well connected to Jaldapara.

By Air: The nearest airport is Bagdogra, 15 Km West of Siliguri. Cooch Behar Airport (70Km) is coming up shortly.

By Rail: Broad Gauge trains stop at New Jalpaiguri, New Alipurduar New Cooch Behar ,Falakata & Hasimara, Madarihat.

By Bus: Entry to the JALDAPARA NATIONAL PARK is via Madarihat Located on the NH-31, 120km East of Siliguri 70 Km North of Cooch Behar and 50 Km West of Alipurduar.

About Jaldapara Forest Retreat

The hotel have four 2-bedded(AC) and two 3-bedded rooms(NON-AC). The rooms are very well maintained, clean, large, beautifully furnished, have attached bath with geyser for hot water. The services and foods (we have taken mostly chinese and bengali dishes only) are excellent. The hotel is located in a village - near hollong river having a very serene atmosphere and an excellent location for relaxing. Try to go with a group - otherwise one have to only watch TV in the evening.
