Pasting-a new offbeat place in Sikkim Silk Route

Pasting is a small hilltop village situated in Eastern Sikkim 5km from Lingtam on the way of Old Silk Route. Lingtam is the first village with a check post after Rongli on this route. Pasting is a very peaceful small village with a sparkling weather guarded by a small river called Bakhuter Khola. Located at an altitude of around 5500 feet above sea level.

How to reach Pasting

There is no direct transport facility from NJP railway station or Bagdogra Airport to Lingtam. But one can pre-book a car from these places which can lead direct to Lingtam or else one may hire a cab till Rongli and from there change on a local taxi to Lingtam. Pasting is just 5km uphill from Lingtam.

Things to Do in and around the Village

Bird enthusiast may find this place as a paradise as numerous birds can be seen here. Birds like Blood Pheasant, Orientwal Honey Buzzard, White Crested Laughingthrust, Khalij Pheasant and lot more. Treskking through the several trekking routes and relishing the magnificent view of the Himalayan peaks while nature walking can also be done here in the village.

There is only a single homestay in Pasting, Pasting homestay is quite peaceful as well as clean and hygienic. It provides all kinds of basic needs including the cozy rooms along with heaters, western bathroom etc. The homely feeling you get there will be an everlasting memory.
