We have 4 rooms in our Bungalow with 3 Triple sharing & 1 Four sharing. This Heritage Bungalow or Kothi at Takdah is nestled is a wonderful place with a close proximity to Tinchuley and Lamahatta.
As these bungalows were built in Old British Architectural style, every rooms at Takdah Heritage Bungalow no.10 has its own fireplace where tourists can relax and feel the warmth of a rich heritage. There is waiting lounge for the guests with beautiful sitting arrangements. The rooms are decorated with wall to wall carpet, wardrobe, attached western style bathrooms, T.V.It has its own restaurant facility that offers varieties of cuisines for the guests those who visit here for their holidays. The bungalow also has their own transport facility for pick up and drop.
History of Takdah
Takdah was developed as a cantonment area by the British around 1911. The British developed Takdah with Tea Gardens and bungalows at Takdah and introduced numbering system to identify those bungalows. Till date the same system is uninterrupted. After independence when the British left India, Takdah was left abandoned with its historical structures along with its eye catching panoramic view of tea gardens.
How to reach Takdah Heritage Bungalow no 10
Takdah is about 60kms from NJP (the nearest railhead) as well as Bagdogra (the nearest airport). It takes about 2.5-3 hours to reach Takdah by car from NJP or Bagdogra. Siliguri, the nearest town is about 52kms from Takdah, Darjeeling is 28kms away (about 1.5 hours by car) and Kalimpong about 40kms (2 hours).
From Darjeeling, you need to come up to Jorebungalow and take a left to Peshoke road. At a place called 6th Mile take right towards Takdah, while the original road continues towards Teesta Bazaar.
